Teaser Poster

The First Draft

For my teaser, I wanted to create something that was mysterious. I wanted it to have an element of secrecy or something that was 'almost hidden'. The inspiration behind my poster was Allegiant teaser poster. I thought this was a great idea and fit out story extremely well. The idea of having something being blurred in an attempt to hide whatever is beneath it. For my first draft there are a few errors I made. This is spelling as well as colour error. I used a white colour and this wasn't very impacting and you couldn't see it from very faraway therefore it needed to be changed. As well as this the '#Invisible' was extremely dark. I also thought that having a date on the teaser poster gave to much information away therefore this and the spelling of cinemas needed to be addressed.

The Second Draft
For my second draft I changed the colouring to make it more visible and eye catching. This was successful and grabs attention quickly. I also changed the date to 'coming soon 2016' to create a sense of mystery. I also added the slogan 'It's time to see things more clearly' as it is almost like the blur is hiding something important and it needs to be exposed or sorted. This helps represent the main reason for our short film and also helps to further portray the fact relationship abuse is not spoken up about often enough. I also changed the Facebook and Twitter signs to that they fit into my poster easier and give it a more professional look.

The Script Development

The Script Development

I first wrote the script and after I had finished doing so gave it to my fellow peers to assess. I then got this back and mad the modifications and gave it to an external person to look over and give feedback. From this, we have created a script that we believe will tell our story well. Below is the scripts.

Short Film Contract

Awareness Productions Contract

I created a legal document in order to efficiently organise the crew and members of the film. This contract states the requirements needed of the crew members as well as cast and what is needed for them to be graded successfully. There will be a peer assessed sheet for everyone to fill out which will also affect the overall grade that we achieve.

This is what would have been asked for in the industry therefore it is good practise to do it now. As well as this, it makes our short film appear more professional.

The Rain Horse Short Film Analysis

This is a analysis of a short film 'The Rain Horse' by Sebastian Godwin.

I watched this short film and created a small presentation on its story line, crew and cast as well as some of the places it was screened and my own interpretation of what the rain horse symbolised.

Magna Carta research

Who are we and who are we  targeting?

The target audience for our documentary will be teenagers from the age of 13 to young adults aged 21, it will also be aimed at both sex groups in order to attract a bigger audience.

Our company name is Original Blossom Studios, we chose this name because its original. The blossom represents the beauty of life and peoples willingness to learn.

The media organisation we decided to target is BBC because it is a Freeview channel meaning we would be able to attract a wider audience as this channel is available on all TVs, they are also a British company which is relevant due to the fact that Magna Carta originally began in England, Runnymede.

Angle of film/ Storyline
We decided to take an informal approach when exploring the history of Magna Carta as we would like it to include humour and witty comments to intrigue the audience aged between 13-25.

Storyline:
The storyline will begin from the birth of Magna Carta up until present day, it will explain the advantages and tragedies that have occurred from the Magna Carta.
This will include the civil wars that have erupted in England and how the Americans adopted Magna Carta to assist with their political dilemmas.
As well as this we will also include a special quiz to conclude the documentary as well as a chance to win a prize related to the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta.
Presenters
Due to the age of our target audience and the sex of which we are aiming for, we decided that we would like to have two presenters of each sex, we would prefer them to be aged 18-20 as this is the in the middle of 13-25 year olds.
We would like our presenters to have detailed knowledge on Magna Carta, we like them to be fun, welcoming, happy and attractive. They must be  passionate about Magna Carta and the history behind it, this will make the documentary more captivating for audience members.

Influential documentaries
One very influential documentary we have seen is ‘David Starkey Magna Carta’ this was due to it’s overflowing amount of information about the Magna Carta and how it’s influenced history up until the present day.
This documentary took an academic approach to appeal more to those of senior age, whereas due to our target audience we are taking more of a witty and humorous approach to keep our audience intrigued.
Unique selling point
Our film should be made because our approach to the documentary will be humorous and witty which will appeal to our target audience, it will have the ability to hook the audience from the very beginning of the documentary till the very end.
